Assessment of subject matter specialists

Two methods are used to assess the level of knowledge of professional training of subject matter specialists: testing and interview.

1. Testing and interview.

As a rule, qualification tests are used to assess the professional competence of a specialist, the compliance of his knowledge and skills with the requirements of the position. The testing system can rightfully claim to be one of the most effective and universal assessment methods, but at the same time, it has certain disadvantages: the identification of incomplete knowledge, qualifications, specific and acquired skills of a specialist, the possibility of accidental hit is not excluded.

On the other hand, the interview also allows you to evaluate the professional knowledge of a specialist, but it is subjective. Therefore, we use a method of assessing the level of professional knowledge, including testing and interviews, which allows us to comprehensively assess the professional level of knowledge of specialists. These two methods complement each other.

To assess the professional level of knowledge of engineering staff worker, control materials were developed for 14 profile specialties: hydrogeologist, geologist, geotechnologist, chemical engineer, chemical analyst, surveyor, power engineer, electrical engineer, mechanic, ECI Engineer, safety engineer, radioecologist-engineer on radiological safety, geophysicist, information technology. Assessment of the level of knowledge of the staff using these materials is carried out in the form of computer testing and interviews. Computer testing of specialists is carried out using the testing analytical complex of knowledge control, specially developed by KNU.

Testing is carried out in two stages: specialty testing and occupational safety and health testing. A set of materials has been developed for the interview:

  • control questions from the practical field of activity;
  • practical issues and situational tasks;
  • tasks (examples);
  • questions about "safety and labor protection".

The assessment is carried out at the Customer's enterprise, taking into account the shift schedule of the mines.

Based on the results of the personnel assessment, KNU provides the Customer with the test results. The obtained evaluation results allow us to obtain objective and reliable information about the level of professional competence of specialists, determine the need for training, and use this information when conducting mandatory certification of employees in terms of professional knowledge and skills.
